This program is especially targeted at the youth in GCC, seeking their creative ideas to raise awareness of such an important natural resource to the wider population in the Arab world. The program is divided into two phases that lead up to the eventual implementation of the campaign. The main objective behind this program is to seek ideas that will actually lead to a change in behavior of the population towards consumption of water. We believe that this cause is one where an immediate impact can be made by just choosing to do so as a form of behavior alteration. In order to assess the effectiveness of such a campaign we plan to have a survey before and after the completion of the program.
Phase one will focus on seeking and compiling entries from university and high school students to create awareness campaigns that will be run on national and regional TV channels along with publicity through print media in local and regional newspapers.
BMG Foundation is marrying education with youth for the sake of environment. This campaign will not only enlighten the minds of youth but will also reach every household and will be witnessed by Ruling Family members, senior officials and the business community at large who attend the Foundation events, read the BMG Foundation magazine, and of course the public, who will know about the campaign, its results and implementation plan through the press and media.
‘Our Water, Our Life’ competition, a pioneering scheme on water conservation, is aiming to engage the vibrant minds of the youth. The competition calls forth university students from the GCC to submit the most innovative, cost efficient and creative awareness campaign aimed at guiding households on how to apply different efficient methods for water conservation. BMG Foundation is touring different GCC cities including Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Masqat to raise awareness of this critical issue and to rally up the talents and creativity of youth that are mindful of our environment and its safekeeping.
The awareness campaign will include three submissions including
- A short movie (30 seconds).
- A one page graphicAd for print media.
- AN applicable invention idea that serves to raise the awareness towards the importance of water conservation.
