20 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BMG FOUNDATION POLO CUP

On June 21st, 2016, set amid the charming atmosphere of the English countryside in Cambridge, England, the BMG Polo Cup marked its 20th anniversary. Within a social and athletic framework, the BMG Polo Cup supports multiple charities while bringing together the East and West. Mr. Basil Al Ghalayini, CEO of the BMG Financial Group, had the honour of hosting royalty representing both Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom: HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and HRH Prince Abdulaziz Al Saud, at the exquisite open grounds of the Polo Cup. The spotless blue sky and lavish venue provided an ideal backdrop for a thrilling match, which, after much tenacity, resulted in a diplomatic draw between the British and Saudi teams. Guests expressed their admiration of BMG Foundation’s work towards providing support to institutions and charities, and their thanks for sponsoring such a high profile and prestigious event. In addition to the enjoyment of their guests, BMG committed the event to raising awareness of their campaigns directed towards supporting university students in the Gulf region, particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The BMG Polo Cup is a recognized highlight of the British social calendar, which has been proud to welcome HM the Queen as a welcomed guest and host in previous years. As a sporting event, it attracts world-class players and is a must-see for any true polo enthusiast.
