The BMG Foundation is a non-profit organisation, that for 25 years has brought awareness to not only deserving but essential causes. BMG Foundation’s campaigns have been a drive for positive change throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Their latest campaign ‘Our water, Our life’ highlights the critical issue of water scarcity and proposes to find a solution. The foundation believes that through the creativity and ingenuity of our youth, there can be a change in how our society views natural resources. This will bring about an immediate change in how society not only consumes but also conserves water.

Alice Hanakova, born in the Czech republic in 1973 has been painting of 10 years. She is a mixed media artist, who pays particular attention to texture, shades and hues. Through diverse techniques and a distinct appreciation for form, shapes and colours, the pieces she creates are one of kind. Her honest and direct pieces speak to everyone differently. It can be noted that visually, her pieces are infused with intensity and vulnerability rarely seen in our current artistic landscape.

The exhibition was held over a period of seven days and in two cities. It was held in Riyadh from the 10th of March to the 12th, the exhibition picked up again in Jeddah and was from the 15th to the 17th or March. The exhibition showcased Ms. Hanakova’s original pieces. For this occasion, the artist has agreed to create a painting in the theme of the event. She created a piece that shows water as the embodiment of all human emotions. She turns water into an individual that must be acknowledged, loved and respected. which ties in perfectly to the foundation’s goals towards sustainability and the environment.
